Low Carb Cocktails

 

Sometimes at the end of the week, I just want something delicious and enjoyable to sip on with my loved ones. With the Silly Season coming up - I thought I would share some of my favourite low carb cocktail recipes!

These probably aren’t strictly ‘keto’ because of the alcohol - but we’re human and we all need a little celebration sometime! (This is what I tell myself anyway!)

Keto Mojito

Ingredients:

  • 10 fresh mint leaves

  • 1 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 1-2 oz sugar-free simple syrup or a keto-friendly sweetener (like erythritol or stevia)

  • 2 oz white rum

  • Soda water

  • Ice

  • Lime wedge and mint sprig for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a glass, muddle the mint leaves with the lime juice and sweetener to release the mint oils.

  2. Fill the glass with ice and add the white rum.

  3. Top with soda water and stir gently to combine.

  4. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint. Enjoy!

Low-Carb Moscow Mule

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka

  • 1 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 4 oz sugar-free ginger beer (or use ginger-flavored sparkling water)

  • Ice

  • Lime wedge and mint sprig for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a copper mug (or glass) with ice.

  2. Pour in the vodka and lime juice.

  3. Top with sugar-free ginger beer and stir gently.

  4. Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint. Cheers!

Keto Berry Spritzer

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz vodka or gin

  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice

  • 1-2 oz sugar-free sweetener (like stevia or monk fruit)

  • 4 oz sparkling water

  • Fresh berries (raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries)

  • Ice

  • Lemon slice for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a shaker, combine vodka (or gin), lemon juice, and sweetener. Shake well.

  2. Fill a glass with ice and add a few fresh berries.

  3. Pour the mixture over the ice and top with sparkling water.

  4. Garnish with a lemon slice. Enjoy your refreshing drink!

Tips for Making Keto Cocktails

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh herbs and citrus can enhance the flavor without adding carbs.

  • Choose Sugar-Free Mixers: Look for sugar-free tonic waters, sodas, or flavored sparkling waters.

  • Watch the Portions: Even low-carb cocktails can add up in calories, so be mindful of how many you enjoy.
